Iako QKD pokazuje zna\u010dajan razvoj, mnoge izazovi koji ograni\u010davaju svakodnevnu primjenu ove tehnologije jo\u0161 uvijek nisu u potpunosti otklonjeni. Inspirirani zna\u010dajnom sli\u010dno\u0161\u0107u izme\u0111u mobilnih ad-hoc mre\u017ea i QKD tehnologije, predla\u017eemo novi model kvalitete usluge (QoS), koji uklju\u010duje nove metrike za odre\u0111ivanje stanja javnih i kvantnih kanala, kao i sveobuhvatnu metriku QKD linka. Tako\u0111er, predla\u017eemo novi protokol rutiranja kako bi se postigla skalabilnost na visokoj razini i umanjila potro\u0161nja kriptografskih klju\u010deva. S obzirom na ograni\u010denu pokretljivost \u010dvorova u QKD mre\u017eama, na\u0161 protokol rutiranja se oslanja na geografsku udaljenost i prora\u010dun stanja veze da bi odredio optimalnu rutu. Koristi i mehanizam ke\u0161iranja i otkrivanje petlja koje se vra\u0107aju radi u\u010dinkovitog proslje\u0111ivanja uz minimiziranje potro\u0161nje kriptografskog klju\u010da i ciljanog iskori\u0161tenja mre\u017enih linkova.
